These works are an ode to the truest, darkest parts of me and I hope they speak to you.

On the surface, I'm a 20-year-old puertorican girl in college who loves who and what she loves to the brink of death. But as you scroll you'll get to know all the parts of me I've never been able to reconcile with my surface.

 

Please, indulge in the depths of a sea that's almost killed me more times than I can count. Just like Athenamia, my name is a mix of two Spanish names that people had never thought to combine.

 

I believe both my names, mom-given and artistic– reflect a reality I've, in equal measure, loved and detested about myself.

 

I do not make sense.

 

I feel too deeply, irrationally and painfully that which should never be that big of a deal.

 

But I think that's what makes me interesting.
